Magento to Shopify, without losing what works.

Peak Beyond helps retailers decide whether a move from Magento to Shopify or Shopify Plus is right, then leads the migration — products, customers, order history, integrations and search rankings — through cutover.

When a move makes sense

Sometimes the right answer is to stay. Frank's Great Outdoors upgraded Magento and launched a new storefront on the platform it already had, so its catalog, integrations and search rankings carried over.

  • A Magento upgrade or a rebuild of custom extensions is coming, and the cost is hard to justify.
  • A system you're adding — a warehouse, POS or ERP — offers a native Shopify integration.
  • Hosting, security patches and performance take more of the team's time than selling does.
  • Your catalog has edge cases — fractional quantities, configurable or custom products — that need a plan before you move.

How Peak Beyond runs a migration

  1. Make the business case

Requirements first, then staying and modernizing compared side by side with moving, so the decision rests on the business rather than a demo.

  2. Prove the hard parts early

Custom pricing, units of measure, configurable products and integrations are prototyped before the build, while changing course is still easy.

  3. Map the data

Products, customers, order history, loyalty balances and URLs — master data first, then history — with a field map for every system the store exchanges data with.

  4. Reconnect the back office

ERP, POS, warehouse, tax and shipping integrations rebuilt or replaced, with prebuilt connectors weighed before custom work.

  5. Protect search rankings

A permanent redirect from every old address, titles and structured data carried over, and a crawl before launch to catch what was missed.

  6. Cut over, then stay

A cutover runbook, launch-day support and, after go-live, a standing working session for what comes next.

Magento to Shopify migration: questions we're asked

How long does a Magento to Shopify migration take?

It depends on the size of the catalog, the integrations and how much custom behavior has to be rebuilt. Peak Beyond sets the timeline from the requirements and the integration map, and plans the cutover around the business's busiest season.

Will we lose our search rankings?

Rankings are most at risk when old addresses stop working. Peak Beyond maps every old URL to its new page with a permanent redirect, carries over titles, descriptions and structured data, and crawls the new site before launch.

Can Shopify handle our ERP or POS integration?

Often through a prebuilt connector; sometimes it needs custom work or a different approach. Peak Beyond maps which system owns each piece of data and tests the integration before cutover. Its Magento to Shopify work has included NCR Counterpoint, NetSuite and Axiom integrations.

Shopify or Shopify Plus?

It depends on order volume, B2B needs, checkout customization and how many stores you run. Peak Beyond compares the plans against your requirements as part of the business case.
