Success story
A configurable-garment retailer takes back control of its own platform
Mercy Robes
Mercy Robes sells highly configurable clergy garments online and from its showroom; PeakBeyond took over its platform from an outside developer in 2022, rebuilt the storefront, added in-store point of sale and RFID inventory, and is now leading a move that fits its robotic warehouse.

The Challenge
Someone else held the keys
When PeakBeyond came in, Mercy Robes' website was maintained by an outside developer who held the software licenses and the server access. The business couldn't change supplier without losing its own store.
The storefront itself was slow and dated, while the products behind it are anything but simple: made-to-order garments with long lists of options that have to stay intact through any change.
Operationally, stock counts online didn't match the warehouse, picking was manual, and the showroom had no point of sale tied to the same inventory.
The Strategy
Own the foundations first, then modernize in steps
The first move was ownership, not technology: Mercy Robes opened its own accounts with each software vendor and the licenses were transferred, so the business controlled its own store before anything was rebuilt.
With that settled we rebuilt the storefront for speed and moved to more reliable hosting, keeping the garment configurations, customer data, gift cards and pricing rules intact through the cutover.
When the next upgrade collided with a new robotic warehouse, we stopped and re-evaluated rather than pressing on: the warehouse vendor supported a different platform natively, so migrating became cheaper than upgrading and integrating. That comparison, not habit, set the direction.
The Solution
From rescue to rebuild to a warehouse-ready platform
PeakBeyond took over the technical work and rebuilt it in phases, each one leaving the business more capable and less dependent on any one supplier.
- Put the business back in control — Took over technical support and moved every software license into Mercy Robes' own accounts.
- Rebuilt the storefront and its hosting — Navigation redesign, flattened URLs, size charts, bundle layouts, digital wallets, product data migration and a full go-live runbook.
- Connected the showroom — In-store point of sale with price overrides, customer lookup, split payments, tax-exempt and reseller pricing and store pickup, selling on the same inventory as the website.
- Opened international selling and tightened inventory — Shipping rates built from shipping history with the policies and feed fixes behind them, and RFID tagging with scheduled exports so warehouse counts update online stock.
- Leads the move to a warehouse-ready platform — Design rebuild with accessibility fixes, warehouse, shipping, tax and marketing integrations, point of sale, and the migration of products, customers, orders, gift cards and store credit.
When the next upgrade collided with a new robotic warehouse the plan was re-evaluated rather than pushed through, and the platform was chosen because it fits the warehouse the business is investing in.
The Results
A stable season, and a platform chosen on the business's terms
The rebuilt storefront went live on October 29, 2024 with everything working after cutover. When aggressive crawlers later slowed the site, firewall rules, load diagnosis with the host and restricted admin access settled it — and in April 2026 the client told us the owner valued the site staying stable all season.
The showroom now sells on the same inventory as the website, tax moved to a new provider with history intact, and RFID counts feed online stock instead of guesswork.
The next platform was chosen because it matches the robotic warehouse the business is investing in, with PeakBeyond running the project, the QA and the data migration.
Mercy Robes went from renting its own website to choosing its own direction.
