Filters and tap screens are only as good as the data

Half Time Beverage sells a large, fast-changing beverage range online and in a tasting room with in-store tap screens.

Shoppers filter by style, region and producer, and the tap screens show what's pouring — both drawing on back-office data that wasn't complete enough to support them.

Customers also weren't getting the emails a gifting and subscription business depends on, and the beer-of-the-month subscription began failing while payments showed duplicate invoice numbers.

Fix the data first, then the flows that depend on it

PeakBeyond treated attribute data as the foundation: populate it properly and the filters, the tap screens and the feeds all improve at once, without separate fixes for each.

For the customer-facing gaps, we scoped gift-recipient and tracking emails so buyers and recipients both get what they expect from a gifting business.

When subscriptions began failing, we traced the cause — a shipping-method mismatch — with the subscription vendor rather than reprocessing orders by hand indefinitely, and pushed the stuck orders through while it was fixed.

Better data, working notifications, stable subscriptions

PeakBeyond fixed the data first and then the flows that depend on it, concentrating on the things customers touch directly.

  • Treated product data as the foundation — Populated the attributes that drive filtering and merchandising, and fixed the data behind the in-store tap screens, so one catalog serves the website and the tasting room.
  • Made the notifications work — Scoped gift-recipient and tracking emails with the marketing platform, so buyers and recipients both get what a gifting business should send.
  • Fixed subscriptions at the cause — Traced the failures to a shipping-method mismatch with the vendor and pushed the affected orders through while it was corrected.
  • Chased the payment and reporting gaps — Escalated the duplicate invoice number issue on payments and set up analytics so the business could see the effect.

Fixing the data once improved the filters, the screens and the feeds together, instead of paying for three separate fixes.

Customers can find it, gift it and subscribe to it

Filtering and in-store screens now run on complete product data, so the same catalog serves the website and the tasting room.

Gift and tracking notifications reach buyers and recipients, which matters for a retailer whose customers often buy for someone else.

The monthly subscription was stabilized at the cause rather than patched order by order.

One well-kept catalog now drives the website, the screens and the subscriptions alike.
